I am looking forward to a fun-filled learning experience and hope you and your child are as well. I believe education is a very critical part of success. Along with that, I believe and all children can learn and succeed. With the right support and tools, I plan to help my students not only master this year's content, but be prepared for next year as well. In order for this to happen, I encourage you to be as involved as you would like to be this year. Parents are a child’s first educator and I believe if we work together it will help your child to strive for success. You can expect open communication and understanding from me. I will also be willing to assist you and your child with any education concern or conflict you may have. I can be contacted in several ways throughout the year. I can be reached via email at amyaustin@ou.edu. If you would like to contact me by phone, you can call my cell at 580-284-6949 and leave a message for me and I will return your call. My planning time is from 1:25-2:10. This would be the best time for me to schedule a conference, as well as my best opportunity to return your call. I will also be sending home classroom newsletters every Monday, which will be filled with information about what will be going on that week in our room. You may not be familiar with Wikispace, however, I encourage you to check it out. This is will be a great tool for you to not only see what we are working on in class, but a way for you to discover new websites that I post for you and your child to explore.
